What time commitment should I expect?
When you’re contacted for a study, the research team will explain all study details, including the time commitment, and whether the visit will take place in the home or in the lab.
Will I be with my child during the study?
Yes, you will be with your child at all times during the study. Many of our studies involve parent participation; for those that do not, parents are always welcome in the testing room. Many of our experiments consist of observations of you and your child’s natural interactions with toys and with each other.
Can I bring other children with me to an appointment?
Yes! We have games and toys for siblings to play with and our research assistants will be on site to play with siblings.
Are there evening/weekend times available?
Yes! We are flexible with days/times and will accommodate your schedule.
Does my child need to speak English to participate?
No. We welcome speakers of all languages to participate. If a study is specific to English, the research team will discuss this with you when you first contact us.
Will the results of the studies be published?
All publications are posted on our website, along with other media coverage. It can often be a long process to publish our findings. We invite you to check our Facebook page for more updates and news from the lab!
